Cross-sector, cross-disciplinary, open to all

Interaction and cooperation are at the heart of everything we do

We believe the best things in digital health happen through collaboration and cross-fertilization of ideas and expertise, which is why we're resolutely committed to engaging people across disciplines and sectors. We've worked hard to build something that helps to grow the DHOx community and facilitate interaction between people from different fields and institutions and backgrounds, and strive to make things free and open wherever possible. This is primarily achieved through our core activities:

Seminars

DHOx has had a consisently high-quality monthly evening seminars series, with over 40 speakers since 2014, covering topics such as Primary Care, Serious Games, Wearable Technology, Design and UX, Signal Processing, Global Health, and Seed and VC Funding.

Hack Weekends

There have now been four DHOx Hack Weekends, with over 200 people attending and nearly 30 projects started. Some projects have gone on to bigger things, some have led to working relationships, but everyone has learned a lot, and importantly had fun whilst addressing new problems in creative ways.

Workshops and Masterclasses

2016 saw DHOx hold its first workshops, with a day-long workshop on Design Thinking and User Centred Design, followed by a How-to-hack workshop in preparation for the Summer 2016 Hack Weekend. An 8-session workshop is coming up in the autumn of 2016, with topics such as 'Dealing with Data', 'Business Model Canvas for digital health', and 'Research Kit, Health Kit and Care Kit'.

We're in the planning stages for our conference in 2017. Watch this space!
